Ghazal Abedini (Ghazalolo) is an Iranian filmmaker based in Amsterdam and a graduate of Film Production (BA) from Arts University Bournemouth. Her practice centers on documentary and cinematography, through which she explores poetic forms of visual storytelling. Drawing from her background, travels, and cross-cultural perspective, her work engages with themes of global and political significance while remaining closely attuned to the intimate details of everyday life.
Alongside her filmmaking, Abedini has developed and curated site-specific exhibitions and screenings, often collaborating with artists from diverse disciplines. These experiences have shaped her interest in creating dialogues between different artistic practices and cultural contexts. In addition to her film work, she is active as a photographer, graphic designer and researcher extending her visual and critical approach across multiple mediums.
